Event-driven architecture

We have a number of event-driven solutions across the estate — some established, some newer. The pattern shows real promise, particularly with Elixir and the BEAM, but our implementations vary in quality and we're still learning what works well for us. New event-driven work should be approached thoughtfully rather than assumed to be the default.
