mise is a toolchain version manager that pins language and tool versions in a checked-in config file, so everyone working on a project uses the same versions.
Why this ring
We're evaluating it as a way to standardise local and CI toolchain versions. It's worth prototyping but we haven't committed to it as a standard.
What does this mean
Worth exploring and prototyping on a project to understand it. Don't treat it as a standard yet - other approaches to version pinning are still in use.
