What
React Native is a framework for building native mobile apps from a single React/TypeScript codebase. Our patient-facing mobile app (patient-app) is built on React Native with Expo, in a Yarn workspaces monorepo.
Why this ring
It's our default for mobile. Sharing a React and TypeScript skillset between web and mobile means we don't have to maintain separate native Android and iOS codebases, and people can move between web and mobile work more easily.
What does this mean
New mobile work should target React Native. The legacy native Kotlin wrappers are not the target for new work.
