C# is a general-purpose, statically-typed language from Microsoft that runs on .NET. At Doccla it's used in two legacy services: continuous-monitoring and emis-service.
Why this ring
We're consolidating backend work onto a single main language, Elixir. C# is confined to two older services and isn't a language we're investing in going forward - keeping new work in one language lets people move between services and review each other's code without switching language first.
What does this mean
No new development in C#. The two existing services are supported and maintained; new backend work should go to Elixir rather than extending the C# estate.
